Book Club
"To read is to fly: it is to soar to a point of vantage which gives a view over wide terrains of history, human variety, ideas, shared experience and the fruits of many inquiries." Reading can do for the mind what NO OTHER intellectual pursuit can do!
Throughout this unit, we will explore the depth of reading- the power of fiction and the relevance of literary non-fiction. You will choose a piece of contemporary or classic literature that connects with you and challenges you. You will form a "Book Club" that reads, discusses, thinks, and creates meaning together. Your efforts will be documented in a journal and you will present your discoveries and curiosities to the class in a semi-formal presentation.
